Jade Eggs

What are or Jade/Yoni Eggs?

Jade Eggs, also known as Yoni (sacred space) Eggs, are umbrella terms used to describe a variety of different gemstones, rocks or crystals carved into egg shaped stones and are available in different sizes.

The use of a Jade egg to strengthen the vagina is a Taoist practice that evolved from ancient China. Legend has it that the secret was kept in the Royal Palace and taught only to the queen and mistresses of the most powerful nobles. It was believed that women who mastered the Jade Egg techniques would maintain their youthful beauty, vitality and sexuality as they matured into old age.

In modern times, developing a Jade Egg practice can be a very liberating and embowering experience as it offers women a path to heal themselves with love, awareness and consciousness.

Healing benefits of a Jade Egg practice:

  • Awakening and cultivation of divine feminine sexual energy
  • Improvement of physical and spiritual well being
  • Increased orgasmic pleasure for both partners
  • Balances the monthly flow of blood and daily cycle of hormones
  • Stimulation of key reflexology points found within the vagina
  • Higher production of “Chi” or life force energy
  • Tightening and toning of the vagina
  • Increased vaginal lubrication
  • Improved bladder control and incontinence prevention
  • Faster recovery of vaginal elasticity after child birth
  • Prevention of uterine prolapse in twilight years

Powerful Vagina = Powerful Orgasm

Due to the taboo culture of sex in the west, most women are simply not taught about the importance of vaginal strength and nearly all women lack toned muscle in this area. When a woman is on a regular health regimen of diet and exercise she's stronger, healthier and more confident. Her body is radiating and she feels truly vibrant.

The same effect applies to her yoni. When it is strong and supple from having a Jade Egg practice it is radiant and utterly vibrant. She’ll experience much more pleasure from the squeezing resulting in wilder, more powerful orgasms for both partners.

Yoni Reflexology

The yoni has reflexology points along the inside of the vaginal canal that connect to the heart, spleen, liver, lungs and kidneys. By using a Jade Egg these powerful points are stimulated, increasing their functions and harmonising any imbalances of the body in a similar way to acupuncture. This empowers health of the yoni and as well as the entire body.

Jade Eggs after childbirth

The vagina is often stretched during childbirth and many women have successfully used the Jade Egg to restore the elasticity. Jade Egg practices will greatly increase healing in addition to being a pleasant and relaxing way to tone the vaginal muscles with efficacy and ease. Overall health then improves rapidly after the birth of the child and feminine gifts are restored quickly, hence, allowing the woman to feel like a 'woman' again.

Jade Eggs and Menopausal Women

Nearly half women at menopausal age suffer from uterine prolapse, which occurs when pelvic floor muscles are weak and provide inadequate support for the uterus. The uterus then slips down into or protrudes out of the vagina, which can be a debilitating and painful condition to live with. Jade Eggs are ideal for menopausal women as they restore youthful vitality as well as help to prevent prolapse, improve bladder control, increase vaginal lubrication and balance estrogen levels.

Can I use my Jade Eggs for Yoga?

Jade Eggs are a fantastic compliment to a yoga or meditation practice. They may be easily used during a restorative or yin yoga class and gentle movements will strengthen the vaginal muscles.

A Jade Egg may also be used in a dynamic form of yoga such as power vinyasa and doing so will certainly sort out training Mula Bandha. Mula Bandha is the Sanskrit term for a yogic energy lock or seal, applied to the lower pelvis by contracting the muscles of the perineum. It is one of three Bandhas, which prevents vital life force from leaking out during intense yogic practice and facilitating its movement up the spinal column to the crown of the head.

“Svatmarama”, author of the authoritative “Hatha Yoga Pradipika” (Light on Hatha Yoga), states: “There is no doubt that by practicing mula bandha... total perfection is attained."

The muscles used for activating mula bundha will naturally tighten to hold the egg in place during jump throughs. It is recommended to alternate days between using the egg and not using the egg during regular dynamic practices, so the egg simply helps bring awareness and train the muscles of mula bundha and does not become a crutch in learning to use them correctly.

How Do I Begin a Jade Egg Practice?

Start your practice with the large Jade Egg and as the pelvic floor muscles improve the large egg may be replaced with a smaller Jade Egg. It takes more 'skill' to use the smallest egg so the muscles that make sexual activity more pleasurable will improve with more focused attention.

Most Jade Eggs come with a hole drilled through the top of the egg. To use, take a foot of non-flavored silk organic dental floss for a string. Fold in half and thread the folded end through the hole. Feed the opposite ends through the loop to create a hanging string from the egg. This makes for easy removal when required.

Find a quiet space and lie on your back with the Jade Egg between your breasts next to your heart. Begin with a gentle heart connection and set any intentions for your new journey into the Jade Egg practice. This is a great time for Breast Massage ~ See article for further instructions

Once you are ready, bring the egg in contact with the vaginal opening. With the large end first, form tiny circles with the egg, massaging it around the opening until you find the right angle. Allow the vagina to open, and gently slip the egg inside. You can then familiarize yourself with the egg by squeezing and releasing your muscles.

Can the egg get stuck?

If the string comes off during practice, or the egg was inserted without the floss (common practice), it can’t get lost. It’s not just going to disappear into the abyss, so there is no need to worry. The most important thing for a woman to remember if she feels like her egg is stuck, is to keep calm. Take a few deep breaths then lower to squat position and use that vaginal power to bear down and you will literally lay an egg. You'll be suprised how easy this form of removal is once you give it a go. Read More

How Do I Care For a Jade Egg?

Jade Eggs should be washed before first time use. To clean wash with mild cleanser, and then sanitize them with freshly boiled water. Jade doesn’t like intense heat and boiling it will only damage the qi structure of the gemstone or crystal.

To achieve optimum results first boil purified water, then place the egg in the water as it cools down. Add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil and soak for ten minutes.

Throughout history, a Jade Egg has always been considered a sacred femininity item; therefore it should be wrapped in silk or satin and placed on an altar when not in use.

Jade Eggs and the Full Moon

When working with a Jade Egg, it can often absorb negative energy in the body, which will change its vibrational frequency. It is important to maintain a regular practice of energetically cleansing the egg to return the vibration back to its original and perfect state.

The Full Moon is an opportune time to not only cleanse the negative energy, but also to infuse the Jade Egg with vibrational power that is potent during the Full Moon phase. This lunar energy carries the vibration of abundance, attraction, manifestation and love. Simply place the Jade Egg on a windowsill and leave to bathe overnight in Full Moon light to cleanse and re-charge its vibration.
